Vettel wants to find his own path
In 2007, Sebastian Vettel is conducting his first full Formula One season as test and reserve driver for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. During his appearances at the GP weekends, he is aiming to fine-tune his driving style without being influenced by his more experienced team-mates too much.
This season, Sebastian has the chance to become familiar with many of the 17 Grand Prix venues. Next to his contribution during the test drives of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, the 19-year-old is also gathering important experience for his future career.
However, it is important for Sebastian not to copy too much of the driving style of his team-mates. "Every driver has his own style and everyone has to decide individually what he regards as important during a Grand Prix or not," Vettel comments. "For instance, I am not concentrating on Nick's approach to the weekends too much. For me, it is more important to find out what are the differences compared to Nick and Robert."
