Important not to let expectations get out of hand - Vettel

While his team-mates achieved the best result of the season in Bahrain, the BMW Sauber F1 Team's test and reserve driver Sebastian Vettel entered the Renault World Series season opener in Monza. However, the German driver always kept an eye on the events in Manama...

"Nick, Robert and the BMW Sauber F1 Team experienced a fantastic weekend in Bahrain," Sebastian Vettel comments. "The result shows that we have consolidated our third position. Third place in the constructors' classification is definitely a huge step forward."

Nevertheless, this result is no reason for the 19-yerar-old to burst into celebrations. Quite to the contrary, Sebastian merely regards the current positive trend as an important step in the two-year development plan of the team. According to Sebastian, the main focus must continue to lie on constant development work.

"It is important not to let the expectations get out of hand now," he remarks. "Instead, we need to stabilise our performances and maintain this high level. We managed finish in the points with both cars, which is a good sign. Now we have a little more time to improve the car and to analyse the data. Obviously the other teams are also doing this. Therefore, it is a very important period for everybody."
