F1 remains Vettel's ultimate goal

In 2007, Sebastian Vettel is battling for points and wins in the 'World Series by Renault'. Nonetheless, Formula One - the pinnacle of motor racing - remains the ultimate goal of the BMW Sauber F1 Team test and reserve driver.

So far this year, Sebastian Vettel has not only covered a massive amount of testing mileage at the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1 Team's Formula One cars but also proved his skills in numerous practice sessions.

While the 19-year old stands at the start of his path into Formula One it comes as no surprise that the youngest of the four BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers says: "This is the category where I want to battle it out with the others and to do so you should be contesting the races."

Before establishing himself as a GP regular, Sebastian will gather additional experience in the 'World Series by Renault'. And he has ambitious goals. "I want to win races there and when the season is over, I want to be standing on the highest step of the podium - as 2007 champion," Sebastian admits. Currently, with two rounds contested, he holds third position with 16 points to his tally. "It is certainly good for me to contest this series," he adds. "It helps me keeping the racing rhythm - and at the same time, racing here is big fun."
