Audi No.2 crashes out of the lead at Le Mans
This weekend, not only the Formula One US Grand Prix is scheduled, but also the 24 hours of Le Mans. Today at 07:35, the leading No.2 Audi Sport North America Audi R10 TDI, driven by Rinaldo Capello, lost the left rear wheel and crashed. The No.1 Audi now has taken the lead ahead of Peugeot No 7 and Peugeot No 8. The accident of the Audi No.2 means that Tom Kristensen will not take an historic eight victory at this years Le Mans.
Meanwhile, both Spyker Squadron cars are also out of the race after technical problems. The first already abandoned the race before nightfall. Also in GT2, car No 78 AF Corse with Adrian Newey as one of the drivers is still in the race being 25th overall and 4th in its class.
