Lewis is fine - Dennis
Lewis Hamilton, the McLaren Mercedes F1 driver, has no serious injuries after his big crash in the qualifying session of the European Grand Prix at the Nürbürgring. Hamilton crashed in the 'Schumacher-S' as he suffered a problem with his front tyre. The youngster was taking to the medical centre, but gave the crowd a thumbs up, being put in the ambulance.
Ron Dennis said: "Lewis is fine. There are no injuries or broken bones but he will be kept for a couple of hours observation just as a precaution. We had a gun failure - the right hand wheel was not on tight. But it was not a car failure thankfully, it was the gun's fault. It is far too early to say whether he can race tomorrow. Thankfully he did not lose consciousness. We'll make a decision about whether he can race after a couple of hours observation."
