I'd love to have Alonso in the team - Briatore

Flavio Briatore once more declared that he would love to see Fernando Alonso back in the Renault car next season. After the Hungarian GP debacle, Alonso has been linked several times with Renault for 2008, but the Spaniard still has a contract with McLaren.

Flavio Briatore told the Spanish newspaper 'Marca': "I can't deny that I think Fernando is great, but he has a contract with McLaren. He is a very special driver and we had a great relationship at Renault that was always transparent. Although he signed for McLaren we remain friends.

Of course I'd love to have him in the team, I think everyone would want to have him because he is exceptional."

The ING Renault F1 Team still has to confirm their driver line-up for 2008. Briatore earlier declared that this will happen in September.
