He deserves it - Alonso
Yesterday, we reported that Michael Schumacher received Spain's top international sporting honour, the Principe de Asturias Sports Award. Double World Champion Fernando Alonso declared in an official communication to the organisers that Michael Schumacher is "a great champion" who "deserves the distinction".
Alonso, who won the award two years ago added: "I am happy for him, because he deserves it, and I am happy for my sport that is involved in an accolade of this magnitude."
