Provisional approval of the FIA for Singapore street circuit
The circuit on which the Singapore Grand Prix is to be held in 2008, has received the provisional approval of the FIA. The construction on the 5.067km street circuit, which consists of 14 left hand turns and 10 right handers, can now begin. The FIA will conduct several inspections during the works and after the final inspection, the circuit will be granted a full licence.
Deputy Chairman of Singapore GP Colin Syn: "After months of poring over the drawing board, we are now one step closer to our dream. However, there is no time to celebrate - it is now full speed ahead for us to get this race on the road."
