Heidfeld aims for good finale
Following Nick Heidfeld's seventh place in China, the BMW Sauber F1 Team has to score another six points in the Brazilian Grand Prix, the final round of the 2007 season, to break the magic 100-point barrier. The German is highly motivated.
"This wasn't a good weekend for us," said Heidfeld following the race at the "Shanghai International Circuit". "At first I was hampered by hydraulics problems and then there wasn't as much rain falling during the race as we had believed when making our preparations." While Nick succeeded in scoring two points, his team-mate, Robert Kubica, had to retire early. The Pole was in the lead when a technical failure brought a sudden end to his race. "Consequently, breaking the 100-point barrier may turn out to be difficult," admits Nick.
To do so, the BMW Sauber F1 Team must add another six points to its tally. Nick is highly motivated to contribute to a successful season finale for the Munich and Hinwil based squad. "Now we want to finish the season on a high," he says. "For me, the circuit at Sao Paulo is one of the most beautiful worldwide. Back in 2001, I came third at Interlagos, thus securing my maiden podium finish. That's something you just don't forget."
