Heikki looks like a very interesting driver - Whithmarsh

Martin Whitmarsh, the Chief Executive of McLaren, hinted that the Woking-based team is interested in signing Heikki Kovalainen for 2008. The young Finn has been linked with McLaren for weeks, but since Renault announced their driver line-up the link gets stronger and stronger.

Withmarsh declared to the Brisith newspaper 'The Gardian': "I think Heikki looks like a very interesting driver." Although Kovalainen seems the obvious choice, Pedro de la Rosa is still in the running for the seat as well.

According to our sources, McLaren will choose their second driver from a very short list in a week or two.
