Glock receives two grid penalties
Although Timo Glock qualified 9th during the qualifying session at Melbourne, the German will be demoted 10 places on the grid. The 2008 F1 regulations say that gearboxes have to last for four races. After the free practice session this morning, Toyota had to replace Glock's gearbox which results in a five-place grid penalty.
But Glock has been penalised with an extra five-place grid penalty as the stewards ruled that he was blocking Mark Webber during the qualifying session.
This means that Glock will start the Australian Grand Prix from 19th position.
