BMW Sauber happy to be 'at home' in Malaysia

For the BMW Sauber F1 Team, the Malaysian Grand Prix represents the first home race of the 2008 season. After all, Petronas, the team's Premium Partner, is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur. Whenever travelling to Malaysia, the BMW Sauber F1 Team can rely on being welcomed by a big crowd of supporters.

For numerous Malaysians, the Munich and Hinwil based squad represents one of their favoured Formula One teams. One of the reasons for this fact is the engagement of the fully-integrated oil and gas corporation Petronas as Premium Partner of the BMW Sauber F1 Team.

"As usual here, it's a real home Grand Prix for our squad because of Petronas, the Premium Partner of our team," says Robert Kubica. "We did some promotional activities, playing with the kids and visiting some Petronas facilities. It was great."

Regarding the race on Sunday, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver adds: "Looking at the progress we have made in the past four weeks makes me think that we are on a good way. An incredible development. I think the people in Hinwil and Munich have done a very good job and we are on the way to getting even closer to the top."
