33 apparently during the race. 44 since the race, 77 in total.
Totally agree. They needed maybe 5 to 10 cm more room to not hit that curb and they would have made it through together. It was just very unlucky and both made decision not to yield. Racing incident with crazy result. It happens, move on.Nathanael F1 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:49Hamilton missed the T1 apex by some margin. Maybe he out-braked himself on cold tires or to squeeze Verstappen, or both.

Verstappen was alongside. Not ahead, but definitely alongside. I don’t think anyone can argue otherwise.

By running wide at T1, Hamilton did not leave enough space to navigate T2. But Verstappen always had at least 2 wheels on track. This is not a Japan 2018 situation as some people were suggesting.

Neither driver is predominantly at fault, so it’s a racing incident.
That move was fine. You can see from your own photos that there was enough space for Max up to that point. Lewis moving over was him moving over closer to the racing line as he is entitled to do.isullivan wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:55Start of the braking zone, Lewis proceeds to go across 80% of the track.

If that's not moving under braking idk what is, yes it was not sudden but Max could as easily hit him there to the same outcome.
Lewis definitely did move under braking.isullivan wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:55Start of the braking zone, Lewis proceeds to go across 80% of the track.

Thanks for this, it's clear going into the corner Max was behind. He shouldnt have been there.isullivan wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:55Start of the braking zone, Lewis proceeds to go across 80% of the track.

That rule is for if for example, at Silverstone when Hamilton had a 10 second penalty, he instead retired, they are allowed to apply a grid penalty at the next race. If the fia give a grid penalty to Verstappen, I'm pretty sure he is still allowed to take penalties for enginesdans79 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:50Not specifically related to engines but their is this in the sporting rules.RonMexico wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:35Is there a precedent for that situation or a specific rule?dans79 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:34
If a team decided to replace an entire engine they automatically are going to the back of the grid. If you do that at the same race you had a grid penalty, you would effectively be nullifying the grid penalty. The FIA isn't going to allow that they will give you the grid penalty at the next race then.
47.3basically if you get penalized, the fia is going to make sure you feel the pain of it.If any of the four (4) penalties above are imposed upon a driver, and that driver is unable to
serve the penalty due to retirement from the sprint qualifying session or the race, the stewards
may impose a grid place penalty on the driver at his next race Even
Yikes. Hamilton at fault, Verstappen at fault, or racing incident. We wouldn’t be talking about that if this happened in 2017 or before.MtthsMlw wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 17:58What a great idea the HALO was
