Kubica - Vettel incident

Vettel braked too early, lost the position, came off the brakes, too fast for his graining tyres, understeer, crash.

THat's the best description really.
Also if you look at Robert's onboard and you see Vettel's mistake on the prev corner then you understand even better why he charged so strongly, this is a hardcore racer that smelled blood. I think he was setting up a switch back, not sure if that's the right term, but basically a very late turn in anticipating Vettel would run wide, so they would basically form an X upon corner exit. But then when Vettel braked so early RK probably thought it would be a simple matter of taking the racing line and that was it.
I think it's more Vettel's fault, but in the end it's just a racing incident, too much race hunger, lots of youth, not enough track

This subject concerns the Vettel - Kubica incident, but about an unforseen consequence.
After the initial collision and cars spinning, almost all the damage was the removal of the front wings. Both drivers tried to continue on, and both understeered into the wall because... they could not see that their front wings were gone.

Would the team not be on the radio frantically telling them about it? or they were just amazed that the cars kept going and didnt' get on it soon enough?

IMO, Kubica could have given Vettel more room and avoid this. Why couldn't Kubica just go wider and drive straight. if Kubica knew Vettel was loosing grip then why stay so close to Vettel? It would be faster to go straight anyway and there was plenty of road on the left.

Vettel did his best to fight and avoid accident. He slowed earlier because he knew he has less grip and therefore have no intention to cause any accident. Even after the first contact, Vettel went all the way to the right (to the grass) to do his best to avoid Kubica. Vettel was not pushed, he drove to the right to avoid Kubica.

To me it is just a racing accident. If Vettel should be penalised then Barachello should get a drive through penalty. Barachello caused so many retirements... All of those drivers could have potentially scored points.

I have to say they both share some blame, but Kubica was reaaaaaaly stupid for having forced his overtake there, instead of waiting for one or two corners more.

Lets face it, he really squeezed Vettel.

And got a DNF from it.

I doubt that he will make the same mistake in the future however, so it was a lesson learned.

This might work out quite well for Vettel in the long run. I can see every other driver giving him a little bit more room that they would have before this weekend.

I was thinking of the opposite, drivers saying 'oh he'll take the blame anyways'
