Double waved yellow means slow down and prepare to stop. Not keep it pinned. It won’t make a difference as they won’t punish max

You see Bottas does exactly what Verstappen did but the narrative is that "Because Max set his fastest time in the 3rd sector he deserves a penalty", nice mental gymnastics to get around the fact that when it's yellow or double yellow you are meant to slow down, nothing in the event notes about whether you set your fastest sector or not . As for Hamilton's lap, it is suprising some fans, becuase they either forget or they have not been watching Hamilton before mercedes. Since Mclaren days he has been working magic in the mickey mousey sectors around the circuits.
I think something awoke in him in Brazil and he he showing the aggressive Hamilton of old.
He kept that lap up his sleeve for the last minute and is simply operating on the raged edge like Max does each weekend. Looks like the conservative smooth clinician approach has taken a back seat and Hamilton is smelling blood, it's do or die now.
I do not think the Mercedes is 4 tenths quicker over a lap. Right now its about 1 tenth to Max in race pace or even less. That lap was just Hamilton. The car does not have any engine or wing advantage. Just setup and Hamilton back to his old self. Max will come back at him in the race.

Fantastic effort from Verstappen, that car is not even Q3 worthy, one can say. Perez is a great driver but still couldn´t compete with Alpine, Toro Rosso(even Tsunoda), Sainz´s Ferrari and Mclaren.

But I´ll give you this, the F1 crowd(or a good portion of it) has a good chance of being the dumbest lot out there with their "Red Bull is quicker" irrational narrative, probably up there with the crowd which believes the Earth to be flat.

Ok, you really believe the Alpha Tauris, Ferraris, Mclarens are better cars than Red Bull?
Most in the paddock will say Checo's side of the garage underperformed. Checo has never been known for sensational one lap pace.

Bottas did not lift either. They'd be shooting themselves right foot in aim to shoot at your opponent.

It was also not double waved yellow. When it's double-waved they take it much more seriously.

It was a double waved yellow. There is a marshal with two flags swinging like windmill on your left side after the DRS line.

I need to jog my memory to see what is the punishment for this. Not sure if it just a time deletion or a 3 place-er though.

Mercedes need to be merciless and squeeze every drop of the rules that they can.
Feed Max to the midfield sharks and let him swim back to the front. It's good for the championship.
They will look foolish letting him stay in P-2 and then they fluff up the strategy and Max wins. They need to protest.
But Masi is in Horner's pocket these days. Masi will just claim that Max's throttle pedal got stuck and he could not do anything about it.
