I'm sure the Marshals who might have been on track when he blindly ploughed around the last corner are thinking the same about Verstappen.Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:11Yep and my jaw almost hit the floor.El Scorchio wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:10Verstappen has just said in relation to his penalty ‘I never get favours from the stewards’
I was talking re strategy. Fortunately for them they seem to have remembered again how to make their car fastest. But today they totally messed themselves up.djones wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 17:59To be fair I think the problem is Bottas more than the team. Sure they kept him out too long (in hindsight) but his drive in the race was also pathetic.justmoi wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 17:55Mercedes... In a race where you need to maximise everything. They've cost huge team points and even lewis one point swing.
Am i missing something??? Why run Bottas for more laps on the medium than he would have needed to do on the hards to get to the end? Even going for a one stop. Did they just forget he was in the race? They have been subpar for a long time strategy wise but today was absolutely ridiculous. A real brain fart.
Redbull would drive rings round them on strategy.
Also, Mercedes won the race and very easily. So they have done some things right.
He had a mask on but I didn’t detect any kind of joking he honestly sees it like that.djones wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:13Did he say it sarcastically and with a smile?Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:11Yep and my jaw almost hit the floor.El Scorchio wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:10Verstappen has just said in relation to his penalty ‘I never get favours from the stewards’
Weird comment when Hamilton got disqualified and yet still won the race a week ago.Magicsenna_41 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:14Wow, again after Sotschi this doesnt feel like a win somehow.
This Verstappen guy will never get punished by penalties... except Bottas could play some Bowling again.
Well there's oh, just a liiiiiittle bit of politics and money involved too.
Leaders don't blame innocent volunteers who risk their lives to enable the very sport that pays their wages. Especially when the fault is very clearly their own (or their responsibility).Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:15The youngest ever F1 team manager to win a WC and multiple WC's, Head of a top team, ex racer himself, fighting dodgy decisions on behalf of the team he is leading, as a leader should do, yes as per your expert judgment embarrassing!
