You are clearly being purposely obtuse.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:57so a system failure by a marshal (a marshal must activate the electronic system from the marshaling post)
it's not "irrelevant" it's part of the marshalling system, else why is it there, nice to have?littlebigcat wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 19:01You are clearly being purposely obtuse.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:57so a system failure by a marshal (a marshal must activate the electronic system from the marshaling post)
The electronic system is irrelevant. If a driver relies on the electronic system be it visual or audible or treats that as the only one that matters then again they have failed and are liable for any penalty.
Now that’s ironic, considering you have multiple posters giving you broadly similar answers that you won’t accept so you just keep repeating the question.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 19:01YOU said secondary system failed (system + failed) = system failure, my boy 5 understands that.Starkblood80 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:58No just no, you really need to just stop postingChene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:57
so a system failure by a marshal (a marshal must activate the electronic system from the marshaling post)
And I don't need for you to tell me what to do, who do you think you are? you come across as a petulant child!
I don't disagree with the "rule" that the "physical" flags take precedence I say there was a system failure as the two systems was not working in tandem, Why, why did it fail? who did not do their job?siskue2005 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:58Resorting to personal attackChene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:55I can recall you calling for Vettels head a couple of years back because he ignored the "electronic" system, when a marshal did not do his job....siskue2005 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:48
There was no conflicting safety information for the drivers, any driver who has done a track day should know that u should watch out of any flag or any safety information on the track... even if ur team on pit wall don't inform you. Basic safety for drivers
The track flag has priority over the "electronic" system
really is it that difficult to understand

Anyway this will be my last reply to you, enjoy your evening.
If memory serves the electronic system is controlled by someone in race control, not a Marshall.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 19:06I don't disagree with the "rule" that the "physical" flags take precedence I say there was a system failure as the two systems was not working in tandem, Why, why did it fail? who did not do their job?siskue2005 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:58Resorting to personal attackChene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:55

An engine change would be a five place grid drop, he can however change the transmission freely!Marty_Y wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 19:09Sorry for the stupid question, but I can't remember the specifics.
Since Bottas did not finish is he able to replace his engine next race without taking a penalty?
I've got a feeling that he can't because it's more than the 3 engines permitted so he would get a penalty.
In context of the status of physical and the electronic system disagreeing then yeah what the electronic one says is irrelevant according to the rules.
It is how it feels and I am sure not to be the only one here...Gillian wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:18Weird comment when Hamilton got disqualified and yet still won the race a week ago.Magicsenna_41 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:14Wow, again after Sotschi this doesnt feel like a win somehow.
This Verstappen guy will never get punished by penalties... except Bottas could play some Bowling again.
according to this, it's controlled by marshals...dans79 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 19:09If memory serves the electronic system is controlled by someone in race control, not a Marshall.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 19:06I don't disagree with the "rule" that the "physical" flags take precedence I say there was a system failure as the two systems was not working in tandem, Why, why did it fail? who did not do their job?siskue2005 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:58

The marshal did his job - he saw a potentially dangerous situation and waved the yellow flag to warn approaching drivers. That is what his job is in that situation - nothing else. What happens after that is not his concern - that's the race director's purview.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 18:35yes, system failure, marshall did not follow work instruction. why was drs enabled? why lights not on? who failed to do their job and why?
