I wonder how that affects the team, he will have been in close proximity to his crew and senior team personnel throughout the weekend.

Looks like Hamilton had very little increase in top speed between FP2 and Q3. Maybe this 'spicy' engine is beginning to degrade or there are concerns for its reliability.
Could it not be something really simple like they added more wing?

I suspect I’d they had any reliability concerns at all they would have just stuck a new engine in.

I think higher down force will mean better tyres so mercedes might go for 1 stop..

Just for the telemetry freaks among us, someone has been putting up some very funky work ..
Hope it'll live not only for this year ...

I kind of wish you hadn't shown this. I'm now gonna end up spending an hour after each session looking at graphs
😂
Sorry for that ..
Wow. This will cost me some spare time and a bit more. Awesome. Thanks a lot!

Max just needs to be ahead by lap 1, then control the pace to guarantee himself the one stop. Not much I can see Mercedes can do as a response with RB straight line advantage.

Mercedes can go longer than max providing max tyres falls off ..then even stop half way and catch max out

Also for everyone that streams the race via F1TV or other services, lets hope they've allocated plenty server capacity. Don't want to miss the start, as has happened in the past

Toto already admitted that it will be difficult to pass and it will in that case require a tire-offset. One of few ways to achieve that is according to Toto to undercut aggressively but that implies surrendering the one stop strategy.

Does anyone know the life of the Hard tyre. If it will begin to fall off towards the end for Max it will be a problem, but if it can comfortably last the race then he should be in a good position

Ah I have just noticed Max only has one set of mediums. The lockup was to try and get a brand new set from Pirelli.

I did wonder why Hamilton made a comment about it being a fake lockup. I thought Max had two sets and Lewis was talking silly at the time.

I think you might be wrong. If Pirelli deem the tyre dangerous they can swap the set for a new one from what I’ve just read.

That might have worked if he did not do a faster time on the softs, and had an obligatory start on the mediums. I think Lewis' assessment was correct, they did not intend to start on mediums, they would only have started on mediums that if the other top 10 teams had selected the mediums. But since they choose softs as well, traffic should not be a problem.
