Didn't he was lobbied by Mercedes too, to not to call safety car when Giovinazzi parked his car? #-o

More doubt cast over Massi’s decision making. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/60318052

Seems very much like he did what Redbull instructed him too and even mirrored their language when communicating with Mercedes.
.
Masi only took out the cars between Lewis and Max and not the other stragglers.
Where in this article does it say that Redbull instructed him to do it that way?
Wheatley says: "Those lapped cars; you don't need to let them go right the way around and catch up with the back of the pack. You only need to let them go, and then we've got a motor race on our hands."

Masi replies: "Understood."

After the race, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff gets on the radio to tell Masi that what he has done is "not right".

Masi replies: "Toto, it's called a motor race, OK?"

This indicates that Masi got the idea to pull in the safety car as soon as they overtook the leaders. The part where he just unlapped few cars was his own idea. But it surely shows he was acting on the lobbying from redbull.

True, i also thought that comment from toto was unnecessary at that time, as there was no need for a safety car at that point (i think masi was not gonna call sc at that time wither way).

Toto has admitted himself that he was wrong

Look, I understand you’re a die hard Redbull fan, I get it but you just cannot justifiably defend what massi did without distorting the reality of the situation.
He was heavily influenced by Redbull into making the decision he did, that is just plane fact.
