Any idea how the relation is between the chassis builders in the UK and the engine plant in France? I wouldn’t be surprised if they have some of the problems like Redbull had with them.
Makes no sense. The RB-Viry story is a completely different story.
The relation between Enstone and Viry is certainly excellent. Their RS.19 chassis/PU integration proves that there is a big osmosis between Viry and Enstone. The fact their engine intake plenum and intercoolers connect directly to the back and sides of the monocoque respectively, to air ducts that are integrated to the tub, is a never-seen-before solution in F1. And you need an unprecedented level of osmosis between the engine and chassis departments to do such thing, because it's a part of the engine that almost merges with a part of the chassis.
And the team said since 2019 that it intends to push this approach further and generalize it to the whole PU.

You are right. I forgot they have a 25 year collaboration on/off as a factory team or custormer. Only 2015 Lotus Mercedes was a single year interruption.

When I look at the new Haas car with too wide sidepods can we expect the new Alpine car to have a “bulky” air box again?

How do you know they are too wide?

It looks like they are. Why do you think that they aren't too wide?

The A521 airbox is a very special case and you shouldnt use it as a reference.
It was very wide because it was a big compromise: the cooling system it contained wasnt designed for that frozen chassis, and that chassis wasnt designed for the 2021 cooling system.
The 2021 cooling system change was unscheduled, like the 2021 freeze and aero changes.
So that cooling system integration was not optimized. viewtopic.php?p=1023376#p1023376

If Alpine had unlimited time and resources and tokens in 2021, they would have redesigned their tub around the 2021 cooling system and had a much thinner roll hoop, like the RS.20 or thinner, or the Renault-powered Mclarens.

But they froze their own tub design in 2019... then the unexpected freeze and 2022 delay came in 2021...

Besides, the A552 cooling system is said to be 1-very different than the last 3 seasons and 2-smaller too.

And unlike the A521, the 22 car tub will be tailored around the cooling system.

So if they continue with a classic centerline layout in 2022, they will certainly switch around the top and bottom roll hoop intakes, to follow the other teams, and have a thinner rollhoop...

Being that Fry last ran the pull rod front suspension in 2013ish with Ferrari, wonder if they'll run it this year at Alpine?

Not sure I will like it :?

But good news to have a big sponsor like that! Hope they can really be at the budget cap, and spend the most money possible on this crucial year.

The pink with blue let's see, but 2021 livery was so beautiful.

On the clothing side same thing, they are going to Kappa, but Le Coq Sportif wear was very nice

Be nice if it is 100M a year but I doubt it. Maybe 25m. Good too.

I like the Alpine livery but Money makes the wheels go round. For 25m.. I love pink!

Pink with the french tricolore can be very beautiful. We'll jus have to wait and see. Last years alpine car had a very nice livery too imho.
