Best looking F1 car since i can remember. Love this Ferrari. I hope its the fastest car this year. :D

Aston seems have more space to flow the air from the front to the rear by the "slim zone" beneath radiators
They are going to roll a vortex off those sides with the radiator exhaust.. that vortex will interact with the diffuser. They know ehat they did. This car maybe the most draggy though .. but if Ferrari made the strongest engine..

I have the same opinion.

To my knowledge, the concept is pretty similar to Aston Martin’s, but with the shape of the top of the sidepod, what they get is a drop of pressure that helps the hot air to get out whith less louvres and with less turbulence, paradoxically.

I wonder if what they really want is a low pressure area on the lower section of the engine cover. Not to create downforce but to help the difusser to extract more air.

I like Gary, but I am hoping technology and these rules start a new chapter in “gurus”, and the tools that the teams have simply have allowed them to move beyond what guys like Gary know and can see.

Even Adrian, I’m ready for a “new” Adrian Newey and a new chapter.

I do also worry that these cars are CFD queens, and that some might be complete duds or total divas.

I’m happy that’s his opinion, as most of the things he’s told about the cars and their potential performances after launches/testing has been proven to be wrong in the past. :lol:

However, there is a sentence from him I agree with: “ Hopefully, I will be proved wrong – and that’s something that has happened on many occasions!”

We only remember them as "radical designs" when they're unsuccessful or banned before they become mainstream. But think of radical things like bargeboards, raised noses, cascade front wing elements, undercut or downwash sidepods, rear pullrods, lower front suspension arms that don't mount onto a keel (remember keels?) etc.
Pretty much all 2022 cars so far have bluff sidepod faces. That'd quite radical in 2021, but is already a trend.
