McLaren MCL36

I think we will have to wait a bit more for the "real" car to appear. I think this is just not it :D
Still a lot of parts to be revealed… I’m would be surprise if we see a lot of it this week… Bahrain testing will give us a closer picture.

The Haas did surprised with the amount of detail they had on the car, although with the largest amount of CFD available and spending every resources they had on this year’s car, it was to be expected

Is this a cutout in the floor or a shadow?

Is the same as in the launch, not a new nose

@Smallsoldier

What about the pics of DR coming out the garage you posted on the team thread. Looked like a new turning vane on the floor rear of the Dewalt barge board?

Yes, there is an interesting winglet on top of the Tunnels, as well as the strakes inside the Tunnels… The floor is the same, we are seeing the covered details from the launch

In a picture a couple of pages behind, I noticed the same thing. Actually, it looks like the "central" part of the floor is higher from the edges. I suppose it's an optical illusion, but we will find out in a couple of days.

Well. The floor has at least some strakest at the throat.

So it seems to be a time bit closer to what they will run.

The 3 days of testing this week will require a very functional car… The strakes are a critical part of the Tunnel’s performance so it would be very surprising (if not outright dangerous) to keep them out of the car for this week… Finer details that add performance may be kept until the second test in Bahrain.

I could also see them trying a few different concepts in this week to further understand which development path they want to take.

Looks different to me. Could be camera artifact in that bottom image, though.

That's a lot of floor space.

Launch spec to me would be the physical car at launch, not the render
But upon comparing them now side by side, there does seem to be a more gradual join between the nose and second wing element, but that could be the low res playing tricks

Here looks much like we saw at MTC
