I believe that there was only ever going to be 1 pre season test for 2022. Bahrain put their hand up, said they'd host it and here's some money.
The teams then requested additional pre season testing be permitted, which it was. FOM & Bahrain already had a contract though to host the only testing for 2022 and this would mean all eyes on Bahrain when peoples eyes were on F1 2022 cars.
JordanMugen is only stating the facts in that response. If you wish to ignore facts then that's ok but he's certainly not playing a game.
I don't think anyone likes the closed off feel considering what we've become accustomed to over the past few seasons.
I doubt that even FOM are playing a game here, if they've signed exclusivity rights for Bahrain then that isn't something Jordan can be blamed for.
Tbh, this sort of commentary just sounds like you are making excuses for FOM.
But all I've done is present what I believe to be the facts in chronological order. Please don't take that to think I actually like the situation. I (think) understand what has happened, that's all.
Let's have some more facts - We've had Barca testing for years and years. We've also had 6-8 testing days at 1/2 venues. Covid happened so the days were dropped to 3days @ 1 venue on the basis of covid cost impacts & carrying matured 2020 car designs through to 2021 with small mods. It was also the case that originally, there was meant to be an additional test in the November (2020) at Abu Dhabi with the 'next gen' (2021) cars for Pirelli.
Now admittedly, Bahrain was on the books as a test venue for last year. And FOM are indeed free to cut things, do exclusivity deals and so on.
But the ire here is to do so, and pretend that it only ever really was one test and that Barca is this oddball/extra test when the reality is that Barca and two sets of testing is the norm. Is it a fact that there only ever was one test, or are we creating facts to fit with the party line? I think the latter is why people are criticising.
