I'm not sure how relevant this is. They are running 6 seconds off the pole pace at the moment - ofcourse they will be slower. First day - everyone running aero rakes. I'm out at the final chicane where the cars are visibly slower than even the slowest ones used to be. They are slower through the preceding turn too, understeering out of there, even the Red Bull, then slow and awkward into the left of the chicane from turn-in all the way to the apex.
I'm going to have a look at some faster parts of the track now.
Let's have some more facts - We've had Barca testing for years and years. We've also had 6-8 testing days at 1/2 venues. Covid happened so the days were dropped to 3days @ 1 venue on the basis of covid cost impacts & carrying matured 2020 car designs through to 2021 with small mods. I believe that there was only ever going to be 1 pre season test for 2022. Bahrain put their hand up, said they'd host it and here's some money.
The teams then requested additional pre season testing be permitted, which it was. FOM & Bahrain already had a contract though to host the only testing for 2022 and this would mean all eyes on Bahrain when peoples eyes were on F1 2022 cars.
JordanMugen is only stating the facts in that response. If you wish to ignore facts then that's ok but he's certainly not playing a game.
I don't think anyone likes the closed off feel considering what we've become accustomed to over the past few seasons.
I doubt that even FOM are playing a game here, if they've signed exclusivity rights for Bahrain then that isn't something Jordan can be blamed for.
Surprised Seb isn't doing the same - he usually has a good look at other cars in parc ferme.
I wasn't pretending and since you pointed this out I did go to review the original 2022 sporting regs (v1) and that also mentions 2 tests. Certainly, thanks. It also costs a lot of money for FOM to not bring full outside broadcast facilities for live broadcast, and that is something they only started bringing to tests recently.
