Repeat after me: correlation is not causation.
You do not and will not know how masi would have acted were it not for wheatley on the radio. You cannot blame RB for being on the radio as everyone was that season. Calling it securing the victory this way is ludicrous. Be happy he acknowledges this sort of behavior should not be allowed.
The fia investigated it and changed the rules that stop what Wheatley and Horner did, and the race director is changed.. and you think it is too wide open that they did this for some other reason after the investigation? Well that is your position and conclusion you draw from everything but for me it is very, very clear.
The practice is undesirable regardless of the outcome. People were already complaining about it before last race. It would be banned regardless. So no, it proves absolutely nothing.
Again. Cor re la tion is not cau sa tion
Let me just invite you to ponder one thing on this point despite already knowing we cannot agree.
In the course of their conversation where Horner and Wheatley did not allow Michael to take his own decisions in peace, Wheatley had said “… and then we’ve got a motor race on our hands” which Masi responded ‘Understood’ .. when later challenged by Toto about what this decision making was about, he took Jonathan Wheatley’s sentiments as his justification with ‘it’s called a motor race Toto’
I think it’s incredibly unlikely this dialogue plays out the same without JW and Horner talking to Michael into how to direct the race. It serves as a great example with just how much they successfully infiltrated his thought process and decision making, for me.
