I have read some news that says that Redbull already reach 2021 cars speed level and somethings like that. because of this I checked 2021 qualy lap times before starting to watch tests. yes they are very close but it seems to me that they are little bit slower.
for example sainz get 1.33.++ and lets assume he has 2 sec more in the reserve for qualy. Still they are slower.

2021 qualy lap was 1.29.977 if didn't remember wrong

It is testing. Nobody is out there hotlapping.

this is like a gum in the mouth of everyone. if this is testing they will test hot lap too for sure. may be a bit fuel load or somethings to hide real time. so I assumed they have 2 sec in reserve

F1 is pathetically slow when compared to this

Well if they blasted ahead in testing or the early races, theres more change of something being banned. 2014 was very much, take it easy, let the others think they are close. Bahrain 2014 really showed that.

This track and the sand / blowing sand must be super frustrating for the engineers to parse out whether changes work or not.

If this is true they are doing an incredible job of hiding the performance. The W13 looks like a real handful from the onboards.

I think Ferrari's car working as expected is a sign their correlation is good with their sim and CFD? their new sim is said to be state of the art.

Mercedes on the other hand, has turned up to testing 2 times in recent years with a car that didn't work the way they wanted ('19 and '21) though its clear from History that they do crunch the data and go forwards quite well each time.

The fastest lap in day 1 testing last year was 1:30.6. Yesterday Gasly set a 1:33.9. That's 3 seconds slower.

Last year they were using cars with regulations that were well understood, this year they are testing a new set of regulations. Being 3 seconds off last year's testing pace isn't bad, considering the teething troubles teams are having with Porpoising etc. We may see some faster times on the final day. But as ever the true pace of these cars will become evident in Qualifying and the Race. Which we haven't got long to wait for.
2014 Bahrain GP pole was slower than 2014 testing fastest lap, 2017 Spanish GP pole was slower than 2017 testing fastest lap. Both new regulations.

We knew going into 2022 that car performance would drop to 2017 levels. Why are people so shocked?? What were the 2017 testing tines???
That's not 2017 levels. That's 2015 levels.
