absolutely... but what seems to be the holdup with it? Did they test it over the winter? If it is as light as they claim it looks promisingaxle wrote:I think the light* flybrid system could be the making of the FW31. The sooner it's on the better.

Maybe it's still being held back on safety grounds?ISLAMATRON wrote:absolutely... but what seems to be the holdup with it? Did they test it over the winter? maybe 10 engineers and then they use the manufactering resources that the rest of the car/team uses.axle wrote:I read that they have TEN (10!) people working flat out on the Flybrid....
10, out of ~700...
I was thinking along the lines that they might want to do alot of crash testing with the device running. I don't know if its mandatory but they may want to do it for piece of mind.ISLAMATRON wrote:driver/ mechanic safety? or do you mean reliability?ISLAMATRON wrote:absolutely... but what seems to be the holdup with it? They bought and own a flybrid company though so it will actually pay them to perfect the technology so they can sell the IP to other firms, produce it on a larger scale. Williams have been talking up diversifying their income, hence bidding and winning the F2 contract and buying the Flybrid company.xpensive wrote:My guess is when already four races into 2009 and KERS situation for 2010 remaining uncertain, chances that a garagiste like Williams would spend any considerable resources on their flybrid are effectively zero.
