Yet, another really painful end to the weekend. Fastest package, almost no points.

It was no points. Both Ferrari cars didn't finish.

Yea, I was more referring to the last 3 races. It’s almost no points for the potential Ferrari had there. They should have won all of them and most of the races so far.

Fastest in qualifications only. Easily destroyed by RB in the race though. You acn spin it as you like...

This is a lesson which RBR took from previous season imo. They were faster on Q's but Mercedes was better on race. This year it's the same on Ferrari vs. RBR battle.

Yes, the pattern seems to emerge. And they can slowly dial up that front and be fast enough in the slow corners to give the overal best performance in the Q's as well. As similar to what Mercs managed last year. It does seem that having a car with most DF but not as efficient in drag is not a good recipe across current mix of circuit types in the season. RB paid close attention to what Brackley was doing.

My man, you should consider ignoring these threads after a disappointing race :).

Meh, it is what it is. The trolls appear, then disappear when things are good. Nothing new.

car 16 was doing okay on hards before the blow? I guess we would never know since we didn't get to see them race to the finish line.

Hopefully they can finish the race in Canada.

Well, the lap the engine blew up CL was en route to a 47.5, matching his PB with 10 (true) laps old tyres. Max did a 46.8 pushing his first timed lap and a 47.3 in his second lap, then he backed off because there was no point. Considering tyre deg was kind of low on the hard, I think Max would have had perhaps a 0.3-0.4s per lap advantage on 9 lap fresher hards. Of course this is very hypothetical, but if it were the case that's pretty much equal performance imo. It would have taken Max some 20+ laps to close up to CL and with a SC or VSC being likely to materialise in the laps to come, as it did, that would have been another cheap (not free as it would have lost position but new medium would have made up for that quite comfortably) stop for CL and pretty much a guaranteed win.
But yeah, the negatives are pretty overwhelming today for Ferrari.

Ferrari is not really faster in Q though, RB drivers dont deliver in Q is another thing all together.

Sainz is worst qualified driver of top 4, and Max didnt take 2 poles he should have taken, Miami and SA, making it 5 vs 3 for Ferrari.

We didn't have the fastest car in the race. In the first stint RB was stronger and only with a good strategy call we found ourselves in front.

Sainz was miles off the pace and lost 6s to Leclerc and Max in 8 laps. Overall 8s behind the second RB driver.

Id have loved to see what the RB's would have done given they come out behind. Max was 13 seconds behind when he pitted so would have been interesting to see how the gap closed in the laps to come had Charles not retired. The tyre offset, IF charles didnt pit again. (i think Binotto said they were going to 2 stop) would have been interesting, given he would have come out in 2nd or 3rd on Mediums...which Ric seemed to fail to fire up against Alonso with much older hard tyres.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.
