Reminds me of SIngapore 2018 start incident. Gasly is Max, Russell is Vettel.

Yeah I don't understand that at all. If they reset as if the race didn't happen, surely everyone must start on their original tyres? But that's literally never how it's worked, I don't really get it.

So the front 6 the same and the rest before the accident is what I'm understanding?

Very strange for the restart, but hey ho.

Roll hoop was completely shredded. He'd not have made it sans the halo.

And it would have been really gruesome...

As I understand if the race has been red flagged before the first lap is completed it will be a reset. I remember this as a rule for years, I think Spa 1998 was like this and then you could get in the T-Car if yours was wrecked.

Silverston(e): Start is a CF, Rus demanding to restart, climate change protestors on track #-o. Now all we need is a racial incident and we have it all (and the day is young).

Well under a red flag you can switch the tires and then start position is reset to last completed lap, e.g. race start in this case.

I think it's lame for those who had great starts but oh well.

It means 0 laps completed and race restarts, targeting to complete all laps. Currently, the live timing shows 2nd lap running!

Just a good job they never got onto a 'live' race track, thankfully the race was neutralised.

I think the restart grid is given by position of cars at the starting line by excluding cars which have been not able to go back to the box by their own means. Isn't so?

I suspect the current "roll hoop" structure isn't as it was pre halo, meaning the halo is the new roll hoop, so the structure above it is just for performance (and non-safety regulations)
