W13 is fundamentally flawed. It’s amazing to me experienced watchers of this sport don’t see it. I guess they will have to learn the hard way like Ferrari fans did back when the engine changes happened. Will be fun to watch this unfold with frustrated fans unwilling to accept the reality that turd pods are an engineering disaster. That car is an aero boat anchor, a pos, a garbage can on wheels.
Seems weird that a flawed aero platform has thus far worked best at aero tracks.

Also the “It’s amazing to me experienced watchers of this sport don’t see it.” should tell you enough about your argument, really.
For me its still the suspension rule changes which caught them out. After all the fric tricks and such they havent got that back yet until they have a new rear suspension i think

What a superb last lap from Max. I wanted to see his pole lap on Max's onboard in the F1 tv app, but for some unknown reason the person operating the cameras took Max's onboard off just as he was going through the turns where Perez crossed the white line. Very sad :-k .

Is Ferrari turning up the engine for the Qualifying and Sprint? Can they use a different engine in the actual race and not the one they used in Qualifying/Sprint?
That’s the deal the got for allowing the original fuel cooling rules to be reinstated. Seems like a mighty nice one, especially for them with the engine issues they faced.

He was inside the lines, his first pole on a dry track this year, great!

Possible gearbox damage?
Doesn’t matter anymore this year, just take a new one and find out if this one is still OK in the next Free Practice.

A very strange rule update. Now you can crash for free (no risk of having to start with a (potentially) damaged gearbox and can make others people lap impossible.

honestly imo it was more a battle of who made the fewest mistakes. i think ham wouldve been right up there had he not crashed. he was only 2 tenths down with yellow s1 when he crashed.

The cars are effectively in Parc Ferme now though?

Surprising to see the mercs so close. They seem to have cured their porpoising, or is it increased ride height leading to a twitchy rear? Although I think with RUS it could be a driver error, he took too much kerb which unsettled the car.

Marko even said the Mercs might struggle more in Aus in the buildup, so yeah I think it will surprise a few.

The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Not the first time Ian has said this whenever Hamilton crashed or made a mistake. When called out he is quick to delete those tweets.
