Blimey, I fell asleep and only bloody now just woke up. Look like I didn't miss much. Looks like tomorrow is going to be a proper borefest. Did anyone enjoy the sprint or was it just me who couldn't keep my eyes open?
Well worth a watch for Mick Schumachers ~10lap defence of Hamilton. What a bit of driving that was.
Plenty of 2021 defence moves there. Defending to one side and then coming back across and not leaving a car's width? Check! Pushing a car off that is significantly alongside? Check! It wasn't "a bit of driving" at all. It was poor driving that ought to be punished. But won't be, of course, because "the show!".
In fairness to Mick, it was the sort of thing his Dad did 20 years ago too.
Nothing wrong with it at all. Many times Mick only moved once I’m under braking. It’s not like he was shaking down the straight. He stayed perfectly straight possibly on a slight angle then moved back over. Absolute top notch driving IMHO.
Tbh, looking at the Perez onboard at the start, Hamilton’s excessive squeezing after turn 1 on Perez was much more towards the penalty position than Mick ever was.
Not sure how you can ever mention, as a Hamilton fan yourself, leaving a cars width. Go watch the onboard from Perez and see how little space Lewis left.
He was just complaining on the radio because he couldn’t get past Mick. Twisting about track limits in a hope he would gain a position from a penalty.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.
