Didn’t we hear the turbo spoiling down in both those failures? Don’t think we seen a onboard from sainz but I’d be pressed to believe it was similar to that. More likely the failure for Charles in Baku is more similar.

I don't have anything against Leclerc or Sainz by the way. You don't remember Sainz calling the strategy from the car in Monaco for example? Or overruling a team order to drop 10 car lengths back in Silverstone (it's his right to ignore a dumb team order to a point, though it is Ferrari and Ferrari is always right of course!)?
The failure in baku was an engine valve blowing up and ruining a turbo, they never had that failure in engine development on the dyno. Obviously possible but extremely unlikely, given the fire it's more likely an overheat situation which broke the engine, probably MGU-H too.chrisc90 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 17:06Didn’t we hear the turbo spoiling down in both those failures? Those aren’t games and arguably were the right call for the situation.JordanMugen wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 17:07I don't have anything against Leclerc or Sainz by the way. Likely PU damage aswell then, given they had to ‘make a engine’ of PU and turbo for Charles.
All Ferrari needs to do really is make quick calls when Charles finds himself behind Carlos while showing superior pace.Vanja #66 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 17:19Even with this blow, Sainz hasn't yet lost as many points with DNFs as Leclerc (44 v 50). Which in his case is both reliability and his own mistakes. Team wall errors for Leclerc in Monaco and UK not even accounted.
If Ferrari know what's good for them, they will prioritise Leclerc from now on. Sadly, it doesn't look like Sainz will accept this on track, even if he gets 50 points behind.
How the Ferrari blows with no warning is troubling indeed. The engine burned out again and again it came as a surprise. If it was overheating, why didn't engineers see temperatures rise in Barcelona and Austria? I remember exactly how Mercedes engineers told their drivers to slow down in Barcelona due to overheating, Verstappen too. Did they miss installing the sensor in a critical location during development?
Yeah, this is quite concerning.jumpingfish wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 17:30The engine burned out again and again it came as a surprise.
