He drove so fast that even a spin wasnt too big of a deal for the outcome.
It demonstrates the advantage, it shouldn’t be that easy.
We were watching this from 2014 to 2021 at Mercedes. It is atleast a nice change.
Why so salty .. Enjoy the moment till it lasts
We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

Champions drive from Lewis in the 3rd fastest car and a sub optimal strategy.

Max did what we expect in the best car, a team mate who moves out the way and starting on the softs which was the best strategy today. He did make a mistake and spin on track though so not quite a Champions drive but still a solid drive.

Ferrari are just terrible on strategy as usual.
Mate, I'm a Hamilton fan, but calling Max's driving not a champions drive is suspect. Yeah he spun, but there was absolutely no one that could have stopped him today.

Max deserves the championship this year. P10 to P1 in Hungary is no joke.

Lewis fighting up to P2 and getting a fastest lap too boot. Hopefully the Mercs are back for real.

George... gutted to see him slide back down from P1. He held the Ferraris well on the first stint.

Ferrari blew this. On raw pace, I think they were faster than the Mercs or at worst, equal in pace. They dropped the ball on strategy here and pit performance. Red Bull has the championship in the bag.
Leclerc did an awesome job until Ferrari decided to knee cap him again, everyone could see hards were slow beyond belief, they were slow in the sunshine, imagine in the drizzle...
Sainz was horrible, his lack of pressure on Russell early contributed to this result.

RedBull was just perfect, undercutting just at the right times, Max even gave the race some emotion, but had plenty in reserve.

I am now convinced Mercedes were on for the win on pure pace if Hams DRS didn't break.
If Verstappen's hadn't had engine issues, if Perez hadn't had a poor qualy, if Ferrari hadn't shot themselves in the leg with Leclerc, if Sainz had had better tyre management... #-o
Agree with all the ifs except Perez, he is consistently poor in qualifying

This race is a great display of why the title fight was as close as it was last year. Mega drives by Hamilton and Verstappen.

The hard tyre really was the decider here. Bit of a gamble to start on the soft in order to gain at the start and then hope for the best that the soft doesn’t drop off. The hards are usually a no brainer in race conditions, but this time they weren’t. But Ferrari aren’t helping themselves nonetheless. Dear lord, what a terrible team operationally. Sad thing is, no one is suprised any more. Well deserved championship by Max and RB.

Great race, so cool to see a genuine 3 way fight between teams, at the start of that last stint I didn't have a clue who would win.

I thought either Saintz or Ham were going to win but Max did really well to manage the pace on those mediums
So far for the adagium 'you cannot overtake on the Hungaroring'. Really nice race to watch, 3 teams in the mix, a few cars out of position after quali, and, due to closer following through the medium speed corners the race was spiced up.

But FER, ohw no, what a disastrous derailling of the race for them. They've lots of homework.

Too painful to watch Ferrari throw win after win. Why on earth did they have to cover Russell at the first stint? Why did they not extend both their drivers stints and go med-med-soft? Did no one from Ferrari saw Alpine struggling on the hards? This is beyond tragic now.

Wasn't it great to see the fighting at the front and all being done firm but fair. Hungary is often a borefest but this one was a great race. Mixed grid helped, of course. Not a bad end to the first half of the season.
New rules have helped for sure, being able to get close in the last two corners before the straight is the difference.

VER with a silly spin and still wins easy. It’s almost incumbent on Merc to get their s**t together, Ferrari are just incompetent.

It demonstrates the advantage, it shouldn’t be that easy.

RedBull was for sure the fastest car, and you're right, had the weekend been normal it would have been a Redbull 1-2 at the end of the day.

It was the car, yes he spun, that is not a championship trait.

Had they put ham on softs at the start, he'd have won this race but alas, hindsight is a beautiful thing.
No he would not have won the race then.. Don’t confuse hope with reality. Besides Ferrari should have finished before both of the Mercedes cars, but they messed up as usual.
Also being on red tyres at the end it is quite normal to be faster if everyone else has harder and older tyres, nothing championship drive in there.
