both Sainz and binotto saying - car had no pace ,
yet Charles overtook Russell and had pulled a 6s advantage on Russell and 10s advantage on Max. Was on course for a win How ?
or is its that Sainz is trying to hide his average performance and binotto is trying to hide his stupid strategy team ( he didn't wnat to sh*t on them in open )
Sainz is only right about himself.
The car had pace for P-2 at least. However it could not beat the redbull today. The redbull i find, seems to be 3 tenths to 5 tenths faster on average. The way how Max and Perez were slicing through the field, Ferrari would have struggled to stay in P-1.
If Max did't have engine settings to reset, he would have been past Hamilton very early, then basically be attacking ferrari, then undercutting then going on to win. So yes Sainz is right, but he could have done better. And with a good strategy Leclerc would have at least be able to fight Max and defend, though i do not think he would be able to keep Max behind.
