You sure? Verstappen will start on the outside now I believe and at that position of the grid, most cars are still driving on the right side (pitlane side) coming out of the chicane.

You're correct the racing line here makes Charles have both the inside and the clean surface. That said, not sure if I'd like the inside at la source starting p15 with Ocon near me

None of the grid spots get much rubber laid down as they mostly drive down the middle, maybe P19 or P17, P15 and P13 getting half a car?, then it's a question which get more marbles etc

In qually everyone sticks much longer to the pitlane side.

There won't be marbles at the start, the track gets sweeped after every session.

Oh they sweep the track? All of it or just the grid? Wasn't aware of that ... but either way ... what is the advantage of the rubber laid down in quali compared to a track where multiple racing series put down rubber on a racing line? It's very likely to be marginal to the point where it's nonexistent ... and all five starts in F2, F3 and the Porsche Supercup seem to point towards that (also previous years that saw some racing) ...

So far the gravel at track limits seems to be a success. Watching the F3 and F2 races the starts were pretty clean, no one overcooking and ending up in the gravel, no one being pushed there. Makes a change from half the field taking to the run off as it has been previously. Only issue is gravel on the racing line.

Bottas qualifies 20th, takes 20 places of grid penalties and starts 2 places out of the points. Amazing
