Aston Martin AMR22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

From photos Fabrega has posted of rear wings, no. Maybe we'll see it at Singapore

If it works on the Aston, it should work on the RB given their similarity.

Why would similarity of the sidepods ever matter on the very rear of the car much higher up ?

The front of the car conditions the flow to the back of the car. Everywhere.

to a certain extent, yes. However, this does not change anything about the wing's function.

To claim that underbody and sidepod, which aren't exactly close to, are detrimental to the function of the vertical extension(which essentially is just a normal end plate, only a bit thicker) is a bit over-the-top.

I didn’t say anything was “detrimental”.

So can you guys help a layman brother out here?

What’s so special and innovative about this AM rear wing?

More downforce without sacrificing drag.. Aston Martin say it’s an efficiency upgrade they will implement onto other wings next year because the budget cap won’t allow it this year.

Looks like someone left the wing outside in the hot sun and melted it!

The angle on the beam wing looks steep. Can't really compare and the angles can be miselading
