I don't think this will happen. Hamilton said they need to collaborate together to win this.
Of course both drivers are saying this. Both drivers want the other to concede if they are ahead into a corner
It depends on if the hotter temperatures make the higher downforce better for tire deg. It's not just a 10 degree F increase in the air temperature. It will also be sunny which means that the track temperature will increase by more than 10 degrees compared to yesterday when it was not only cooler, but also cloudy meaning the track didn't absorb much sunlight.
Anyone have the forecast?According to Mercedes today a lot will depend on the track temperatures. Low? Good for them. High? In favor of Red Bull. Yesterday, with 35C on the track, the RB18 was severely limited in the front (understeer) with both Verstappen (Medium) and Perez (Soft).
You can bet that Toto hopes he doesn't have to deal with this question
The open question. Why would higher track temps support less understeer for Red Bull? Is the theory that the rear tires would lose grip allowing the car to rotate?organic wrote: ↑13 Nov 2022, 17:34

Dodging the question entirely: considering how woeful the rb18 was with the track conditions yesterday and it was low track temp, anything different is good news for RB and merc would prefer exactly the same conditions, where their car seemed exceptionally happyAR3-GP wrote: ↑13 Nov 2022, 17:39The open question. if Mercedes is to be believed, it's good news for Red Bull because it will be much warmer today in terms of air temp and track temp. Yesterday was cloudy. Today there won't be a cloud in sight. Sunlight = high track temps.
If I'm not mistaken, there was another GP where we observed a similar phenomenon in terms of performance swing for Red Bull vs Mercedes.organic wrote: ↑13 Nov 2022, 17:53Dodging the question entirely: considering how woeful the rb18 was with the track conditions yesterday and it was low track temp, anything different is good news for RB and merc would prefer exactly the same conditions, where their car seemed exceptionally happyAR3-GP wrote: ↑13 Nov 2022, 17:39The open question. the overall lighter car (due to sprint fuel load), combined with too cold of a track can suck out the heat from the tire, perhaps they couldn't keep the mediums warm enough, caused the understeer, and skidding simply wore out the tires too quickly, and the more they wear, the less movement of the rubber, the less heat you're able to put in, which kind of explains the gradual increase of Maxes lap timesAR3-GP wrote: ↑13 Nov 2022, 17:39The open question.
