I can, Adrian Newey.
Haha 😂! Surely was Peter Prodromou in 2013/14 was it?

They Tried to get Fellows and failed. Makes me think that he was the better one, since RBR tried harder to keep him.
From memory didnt McLaren try to get both at the same time?

Also remember them trying to get Loic Serra from Mercedes and that never come to fruition

A big surprise - makes you wonder whether the Audi talks with McLaren were what Seidl hinged on, and obviously we chose not to go that route.

The competition ahead is fierce for sure. Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari and Audi works teams, Renault if they stay, and then the ambitious Aston Martin guys with their talent and infrastructure.

I would seriously like us to consider burying the hatchet with Honda and partnering up to abolish those memories of 2015/16/17, especially as Honda are now well set to perform strongly and have a chance to demonstrate their prowess and put things right.

Anyway, that’s another discussion- I really hope James Key and the guys can deliver an ambitious car and keep us fighting.

Big disappointment. We fail to attract good personnel, while others shop everywhere and now even take Seidl away from us

- Brown says Seidl told him during the season that he was planning to go elsewhere when his contract was up at 2025.

- Brown said it was pretty obvious where he was going but they were going to carry on as they were happy with his work.

- Brown said Stella was the first person he was going to call. Said that when it was clear Vasseur was going to Ferrari, discussions began about releasing Seidl early.

- Says himself, the drivers and the team are “extremely excited” to have Stella fill the role.

- Brown keeping it close to his chest on when Seidl first told him. “Between the first race of the season and the last” he said with a smile.

- Brown said he didn’t want to “dissolve the relationship” by putting Seidl on gardening leave.

- Brown says there won’t be a “tremendous amount of change” in terms of how the team operates.

- Stella says they are happy with the progress McLaren have made recently and wants to keep continuity.

- Stella says his style will be “hands on”

- Stella says they want to make a step forward in delivering a quick car.

Sad to see Seidl go, but excited by Stella filling that role. He's been a cornerstone of the upper-management for many years now, and will slip into that task with ease. Don't think it will have any affect of the team tbh, seems a natural progression.

I find this hard to believe.

Another thought, could be a good seed to have to secure an Audi PU should Mercedes fall away. Not expecting it though, and hope we stay with Mercedes for many years to come.

I don't think anyone turns down a CEO job... especially for a automotive powerhouse like Audi + he will be closer to home

Sad to see Seidl go, as understandable as it is. Going from TP to CEO should be an easy choice. Excited to see what Stella can bring to the table as TP.

I would consider Norris's contract to be very very vulnerable if Mclaren don't start winning races in the next 1-2 years. He'll be off to Audi w/ Seidl.

What makes you so sure Audi will be winning straight away?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

I never said they'd be winning straight away. I simply think that philosophically, Norris will shift towards a different project if Mclaren can't come up with the goods after 3-4 years.

Think of it like Hamilton making the jump to Mercedes. Sauber won a race within 2-3 years of being taken over by BMW.
