Call me crazy, but I think that car in the video has an RB18 bodyshell. The new car will be completely different.
It really looks just like the 2022 car. Nothing is different apart from front wing.
For Sure!!

Are Red Bull the first team to actually manage to carry out a pre-season in secret? These 144p photos leave something to be desired....

I believe that's just glare from ambient light. The leading edge is straight across.

I edited the photo and I don't think it's the glare..

Play around with the highlights, white point etc the bit that would be glare if the leading edge goes straight across never changes relative to the background wall..

It probably is glare but would be cool if it isn't

This is my take on the potato photo:

glare in yellow, leading edge in red. The leading edge step might even be an artifact of the low resolution.

Fair enough. For me the geometry of the current rear wings wouldn't allow all of the yellow section you've highlighted to have lots of glare given we can see how the light is falling on the rest of the wing

Here's a similar angle of the RB18 rear wing

It's just come to my attention that the author of the original photo also highlighted what you suggested in purple. There could be more to it.

I've been asking myself why there are better photos of bigfoot than the RB19, if it was just going to be a lazy copy of the RB18. So maybe there's more than meets the eye.

Really? Do you have the image that they posted with their purple highlight ?

I'm expecting RB to have a Mercedes mid-wing and this wild rear wing at this stage

Nevermind I got confused. I thought you drew the green highlight and the author purple but it looks like you did both

Re: Oracle Red Bull Racing RB19 Speculation Thread

My guess for the rb19 is similar style sidepods overall to the RB18 in the way it has the downwashing ramp, the crease aiding downwash to the sides of the diffuser. However the front of the sidepod is entirely reworked. It's more outwashing at the front (higher up) but still has the deep undercut lower down.

But my big idea is that it also has a Merc mid-wing solution to help downwash air onto its ramp. Feels like a perfect marriage, RB's downwashing ramp being powered by a Merc mid-wing . Then they put the inlet wherever is possible within this framework. My guess is a vertical inlet like Merc

Oh and obviously they'll have the tubercle leading edge rear wing

We'll see

I have doubts about any vertical inlets however I think the inlet shape has been tweaked. Wider and higher:

I think that the RB18 did the same mid-wing ‘trick’ with their lower forward protruding inlet edge, they just controlled the the outcome in a much better way. I would expect the RB19 to take this further (maybe raising the height a little and bringing the upper lip further back - much like we saw in the previous regulation set towards the end). The similarities are even more apparent in the launch-spec W14.
