That is a surprising view! I really thought they increased the cannon exit, but its actually much smaller. Great post!

Looking at the suspension it seems like somebody has been carrying over a LOT of parts.

I'd question; did they move it or is it just smaller to save weight and will they fit the bigger one on circuits with a high cooling demand?

Looking at the suspension it seems like somebody has been carrying over a LOT of parts.

It's not surprising that the actual cannon has got smaller. They've opened the slit beneath the sharkfin which they trialled at Singapore & Mexico last year.

In addition they're taking advantage of the outlet where the suspension inserts to a greater extent on the rb19:

Ok I thought Fabrega got a good photo of the diffuser. Nicolas goes a step further. Seeing the carbon fibre layup allows the curves to be more obvious:

This shot has different lighting but it appears exactly the same.

It's more like the shadow on the opposide side. The light comes from the front like before. It still can be a shodow as well as a slit.

Are those indents being used to roll up vortices that flow up centrally through the diffuser? I wonder if collectively, they help keep flow attached + work in tandem to create two counter-rotating larger flows next to each other?

I'm not sure, but allways regarded them as exactly the same devices in intent as the device on the floor edge. They are there to extract air from the floor area to keep the pressure low

Man i love hi flow vis they do, it must be nice to see how the air moves for real as well, match it up to CFD etc

Just the way the flo-vis sticks to the body all the way front to back. Doesn't suddenly stop where the airflow separates like we've seen on other cars.

Yup, feeding the diffuser with undercut flow, it was clear this is what they are going for since first test last year. Feed the diffuser vortex, make it stronger, it draws more air from under the floor, reduces pressure under entire floor.

I did not notice yet that they made a small kick on the SIS blister. Really obvious flow seperation there. Maybe doing some aero prep work for the edge wing?

RB seemingly don't use aero-rakes anymore, they exclusively use flow-viz. At least I haven't seen a single aero rake on the car yet.
