In the last day of testing I said that the car is much faster than the test showed. We dont know engine modes yet but I believe he will be high enough tomorrow on the midfield and I would say as high as Mercedes and Ferrari.

Interesting how Ferrari's lap times improved when everyone else got worse through the runs!

Still struggling with the high drag or just the engine is turned down like McLaren used to do in the last couple of year?

This is actually crazy and suggests we have finally solved our cars Achilles heel...slow corners.. where we have traditionally been one of the slowest teams for a decade. If our braking/slow corners are near the top in F1 then the future is indeed bright this season. We will drop some drag and get those top speeds up as the season goes.. I'm feeling hopeful looking at this.

Hey everyone I had started posting some telemetry analysis in the car thread but now moving some of it here. I'm looking at timings between Norris and Piastri and it's clear a lot of the time Piastri loses to Norris is the fast back and forth section (highlighted red in fig. 2)

Edit: the figures were ugly sorry, changed them.

It's also interesting to note how Piastri seemingly carried more speed down the straight to start and end the lap.

Just shows how comfortable Norris already is with the car on the limit. To be expected difference with a rookie imho. And Norris is the real deal as we all know by now.

Oscar's pace proves, yet again, that Lando is the real deal.
We also need to remain patient with him, it is going to take a couple of races for him to get up to speed. Hopefully by the summer break Oscar can be fully up to speed.
In his first F1 GP Session, Norris was 7 tenths slower than Sainz.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren
