I said it a few days ago that Q3 would be a challenge. Its going to be a tough year.
We were pretty close to q3. I don't think you can base the year on one qualifying performance.

Say what you will, while Alpine went around saying this is the closet they will get to the top 3 and with all the hype around them, a complete contradiction to what was coming out of McLaren, we were pretty close in performance in this session, I hope this speaks to the teams ambition of what’s to come.
Put in context, it’s not that bad of a result… After all the negativity from pundits and some fans after testing, they classified P11 for the race, with what I hope is a car more geared towards the race and protecting the tires in what should be a high degradation race.

Several teams went with a lower downforce configuration in qualifying (like Mercedes), we will see if that was the right direction for the race or not… This is not a race where the qualifying position is critical with 3 DRS zones and plenty of opportunity to overtake.

Seems like Piastri is going to go down the Ricciardo way against Lando.

That is exactly what I tell myself at the start of almost every season. McLaren is not even a midfield team anymore.

We know that the team did not start where they should be
So it's the same as every year? How much longer? The sky IS falling.

There is some WMD-grade trolling in this thread. It's actually quite impressive

The sky is not falling.Lets give them another chance. If some of you feel that this team is pretty much done dont bother ever posting again. You will save productive time doing something better, feel less frustrated and you arent gonna frustrate the rest.

Follow a team through ups and downs. Isn't that the normal way?

Not as bad as expected considering it’s Bahrain and an update to come

Theres a difference to follow a team through ups and downs doing constructive critisism and another to bash a whole team wanting their end.

The truth hurts. Take off your rose colored glasses. I've been a McLaren fan since I was a kid. But this is no longer the team I know. They've become a parody.

Well, at least Zak seems proud of his digital billboard. Now that's something.

I wonder if you are gonna eat your own words if the B Spec car makes a huge leap and challenge near the top 3.
