Not sure if this is the right thread, but it looks to me as of Merc is framing the low ride height allowed by the rules as a safety issue.
With the technology we have in today’s environment, it just seems unnecessary how we’re running a Formula 1 car at over 200 miles an hour, millimetres from the ground and it’s a recipe for disaster.

“So I don’t really know what the future holds, but I don’t think we can sustain this for three years or however long these regulations are enforced.”
I think he is clearly hinting at active suspension, but it occurred to me they could also be they will lobby for a minimum ride height. That would be difficult to enforce, but raising the floors of the entire grid would mean thet can be back in the competition.

They have forced a minimum rude height since 1994. The plank means the car can't run lower than 10mm front 10mm rear ride height.

Well, actually that was a stupid post,I did nit see the many articles that Day on the subject. Seems like interesting times. does MB really have a sprouting mutiny at their hands? Is Hamilton really suffering injury? I'm not sure what to believe. Hamilton again smashing a competitor straight to the hospital, or even himself to move their technical issues into a safety debate, forcing the FIA to respond seems less and less of a stretch to imagine...

Well, aerodynamicall the ride height is 10mm... But for the plank and the driver's bum?!!

Well every car has flex in the floor so ground clearance is probably even less in practice.

I wonder if RedBull have caught onto the benefits of Aerophobic / superhydrophobic coatings on their cars this year what with how slippery they would appear to be now? 🤔

I don't think "aerophobic" really exists, it is just a fancy term for their "in water" surfaces.
As for hydrophobic... (from your link) "the three-phase contact line of air/water/solid" is not how a F1 car works most of the time.
