Could alonso have gotten close to leclerc ?
Leclerc i think was running 12 seconds in front of Sainz when he retired running in 3rd behind the red bulls.
TBH i think Alonso could had reached the back of Leclerc by the end (with the race pace he had on the C1) but i don't know if he could have passed him.
If he hadn't end up behind the 2 MERC at the start IMO he would have easily ended up P3 even if Lec hadn't retired and i believe that if he had managed to clear Sainz at the start running at p4 after the 1st lap he could have been battling Perez for P2 at the end.
Alonso 2-3 laps after passing sainz, he also started cruising. He was avoiding kerbs and the team asked him to slow down on some corners. He was matching the red bull in their cruise mode. Top 3 where just cruising.
