‘Kind of a B spec’
“So, we have three main steps: Baku, later on before shutdown, and then after shutdown.
“And we hope that each of them will be able to provide a few tenths of a second, so that we put ourselves in a more realistic position to meet our ambition to become a top four car towards the end of the season.
“We will see the impact not in Baku, obviously, because what comes in Baku was released in design like two months ago, but definitely it will impact the next round of upgrades.”
Also:
Sounds like the first upgrade will focus on the floor as expected, and the second upgrade package will be more sweeping changes across the car's aerodynamic surfaces - the 'b spec'.The improvement of car performance issues should start in Baku,”
“The improvement in Baku should affect an area of the car that it has been clear that – I think from the presentation of the car – we weren’t entirely happy with in terms of development.
“It’s just the first step, we would expect definitely another major upgrade, which will interest more areas of the car.
“It will be much more apparent, what some may call like kind of a B-spec car. And then we expect to have a further round of upgrades in the second part of the season after the shutdown.

It is good to know the second upgrade comes before the shutdown... I'm thinking it's likely to be Barcelona?
Piers Thynne got promoted though, but I'm not sure if he's outside the cost cap. Zak, Stella and Thynne??mclaren111 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 15:09Another "advantage" of the new struture is that you now have 3 top people outside the Cost Cap as Senior Management Pay is excluded...

This reflects poorly on Seidl.saputra_25 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 17:33https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/stel ... /10450227/
Neil Oatley has been summoned to fill the gap for the time being.

I didn't mean the Niel Oatley context. I was referring to your link which outlines all of the technical and structural changes being made to unlock Mclaren's potential, as soon as the previous guy in charge left...Almost as if to say this is what the previous guy should have done...Macklaren wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 18:04Why?AR3-GP wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 17:38This reflects poorly on Seidl.saputra_25 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 17:33https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/stel ... /10450227/

My previous post with the article about the ‘b-spec’ more so regarding Seidl tooAR3-GP wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 17:38This reflects poorly on Seidl.saputra_25 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 17:33https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/stel ... /10450227/

I’ve been thinking this for a while since James Key left.saputra_25 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023, 17:33https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/stel ... /10450227/

"Stella suggested that under the previous structure the contribution of Prodromou in particular had been restricted"
Zooming out, as an outsider of the organization. The way I see it, the old technical structure does not allow fresh ideas to go through, and being more conservative in the development path. That coincide with the lack innovative idea we saw in the car in the last few years.
