Does that mean the FIA have until the end of today to find 4 or 5 more teams?

(What does the FOM contract dictate in terms of minimum cars on grid?)

For five of the major car manufactures of the world, fielding three cars should not be such a big problem, they all have a third driver and an xtra chassis would not cost too much in terms of logistics, would it?

They cart a 3rd chassis around with them anyway.

The FIA just say that they shouldn't build it at the circuit... in their infinite wisdom... after all, what is the point in carrying the chassis half way across the planet then actually have it prepared up to a useable state in the event of an accident.

If Spa '98 had repeated in the past couple of years, it would have been a complete disaster.

The teams are going to have to get technical regulations out the door sharpish...

However, since it is now technical people running things, I would imagine a much more coherent set of regs will be produced. Probably using drawings (design spaces) and words rather than just words.
