Due to the rain in the night and cloud cover today the conditions were quite different to yesterday.
They’ve had this quali problem for years now. That is why they introduced DAS. The car just does not warm up its tires well but it has good tire wear. Its useless having good tire wear if you are going to be outqualified by a Haas though.
He needs sitting down and told some home truths, what was that all about when he said he didn't think they can finish? Just drive the damn wheels off the car man!
Sainz was nearly 9 seconds ahead, and that's after accounting for his 5-sec penalty.
Nuance isn’t his strong suit. Lewis had a good recovery drive given the DRS train he’s been in for quite a while.mkay wrote: ↑07 May 2023, 23:52Sainz was nearly 9 seconds ahead, and that's after accounting for his 5-sec penalty.
P5 would have only been in play had Lewis been able to make his T1 move on Albon stick. And even then, the early race DRS train spanned like 4 or 5 cars, so he would have still been stuck to some extent.
It was also clear from both drivers that the car was far more driveable as it got lighter. Merc wasn't really competitive on high fuel load. Russell got gapped by ALO/SAI and Hamilton was tentative under braking against the likes of HUL and ALB.
Please don't try to reason with this guy. 90 % of his posts in the race thread and this thread have obsessively been about what Hamilton is doing wrong, and he will find yet another in this post of yours no matter how factually true it is. The mods have taken notice already.mkay wrote: ↑07 May 2023, 23:52Sainz was nearly 9 seconds ahead, and that's after accounting for his 5-sec penalty.

Stick with me son and you'll go far, what DRS train was Hamilton in when he was stuck behind Hulkenberg for several laps? And, you clearly didn't read my post properly, I said the car is arguably second best on a Sunday, but, qualifying makes a difference, Russell had to work his way through traffic, Alonso didn't, do keep up son.Puffpirat wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 00:04Nuance isn’t his strong suit. He’s also saying Merc has the second best car which would mean his golden boy George underperformed finishing behind Alonso. Which is both nonsense obviously, George got the best possible result and Aston is simply quicker right now. They have 4 podiums vs that one from Lewis.

It isn't as easy to clear the cars in this Mercedes with a limited top speed in straight line. He let Russel pass as his teammate had trouble to clear him fair and square despite having fresher tyres.harty71 wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 00:25Like birds of a feather.Hammerfist wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 00:21+1Tvetovnato wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 00:09

Face it, Hamilton didn't get started until 40 laps in, had he cleared the cars earlier be could have challenged Sainz.
