Seems the change in ownership has been smooth for RBr after all, despite Marko's initial concerns.

Of course everything will be rosy whilst RB have an established lead driver and crushing dominance. So I will take it with a pinch of salt.
I wouldn't assume everything to be rosy just because it is going well this year. Surely they have a much more long-term perspective than that. Especially with RBPT having to deliver in 2026. Ford coming onboard. New wind tunnel, the aftermath of the budget cap penalty etc.

They were clever in signing Verstappen long-term so he'll be there when they put the RBPT PU in. Basically they bought themselves stability.

Also they'll have to think and plan for succession of Marko himself. Will he even be at the team in 2026 when the RBPT PU gets introduced. Same goes for Newey when his contract eventually expires and he decides to retire or do something else. Also there is the hunt from rivals for Red Bull talent.

Again I doubt its so rosy that they'll be sitting there at their meetings laughing and drinking Red Bull
Rb have invested billions into RBPT in recent years. Oliver is for sure going to be assessing whether the outlook of the team is actually worth this huge investment for the brand..

My point is that the current success makes the current huge spending a lot more palatable. I think if the ownership change had occurred and RB were struggling in the new regs, things wouldn't be the same between Marko and Oliver.

From a technical / upgrade point of view I really miss the pre-costcap years.

Silverstone will provide something, but that could be it for the season

A curious FP1 so far. Car has no front.

Indeed. Car looked crap on hards from the onboard. The sprint race gremlins are here :D I think they go for a conservative setup for sprint races which leads Max to be uncomfortable..

Rb not running the soft tyres. Gone onto mediums now

Looks a lot better in terms of handling on the mediums, granted it's low fuel.. but the ridiculous understeer is gone. Maybe they will have to avoid the hards on sunday?

having to do a triple cooldown on the medium after a fast lap

Replaced with oversteer (still some understeer in T4).

triple cool at 80 kmh no less

Admittedly the decision to do a triple cool was not one made in advance. GP suggested it as others were aborting fast laps even after double cool

Interesting quotes from horner

Marko had previously described his simulator times as not at the level of Max and Perez I believe..
"[Daniel] seems to have found his mojo - he’s been working hard on the simulator and he’s extremely competitive in what he’s doing"
"So whether that crosses over into the real world, we’ll see, albeit at a tyre test, we’ll get the impression as to the level that he’s performing at"

"But, certainly you can see that there is a spring coming back in his step"

That's four grand prix in a row without Perez in Q3 and all were driver error/lack of pace relative to Max (who was on pole each time)

It's as bad as 2020 Albon. Miami broke him

Perez will be gone at the end of the year if this continues.

That little dirty air did him in. I think he could be 3rd or 4th on the grid otherwise. That's assuming he'd be able to make a clean lap in Q3 that is.
