Not sure what Lando could do differently there no matter how much experience he gains over the years. He had the inside line and had a way better exit. In fact he started to pass both RB cars but then Verstappen wen't onto Lando and Lando had to push the brakes to avoid a collision.

How so, what would you have done different?

Evidence so far this season suggest Mclaren warm up their tyres pretty well and if there was ever the perfect conditions to capitalise on such an advantage was right there.
They did the right thing with Piastri and look how that improved his race- he beat Leclerc who was miles ahead of him on the inter running!

Lando wasn’t in the points when the switches were being made to slicks so it’s not like it was massive gamble. If he was P4 then staying out was the right thing but he wasn’t.

Leclerc pitted and finished 12s behind us. I'm not sure we would have fared much better.

Maybe it was close I don't know, but he gained 2 positions by staying out and it wasn't cut and dry that he would keep them by staying out.

We have pace,that's my conclusion after this sprint race.

To be totally accurate, we have pace in a specific track configuration in conditions that suit us more. The old sidepods had pace on a track it liked more in cooler conditions.

I think it is fast, but I really would caution to use some patience.

Do you think Verstappen reacted correctly on that turn where he closed Lando? On another note I cant wait for the rest of the upgrade to be installed and refined. Mika Hakkinen might be on to something.

First lap jostling on a wet track with cold-ish tyres. Lando went into anti-stall. Unlucky. It is what it is. I really do hope though that the tyre deg isn’t as bad as NOR says it is. Typically he’s been hypercritical which is a good sign generally as he wants the best and to be the best. But sometimes that moves into overstating

Why is tyre degradation so bad despite the high df configs that they are choosing to run? It confuses me
