He was quicker in the second stint as well.
Who? Sainz?
Pretty sure they had a larger gap coming out of the first pit than coming into the second. Would have to go back and double check.
They did but not much, after the passes SAI was 4s behind and I think he was just 5.6s or so at the following pit stop. Both drivers had very similar pace.

It was +4s when Sainz got through the traffic, went up to almost +8s from there and came back down to about 4-5s before 2nd stops. At that point, Leclerc was trying to extend the stint while the team was expecting to go for 3 stops.
was +8 after the pit stop not when they pitted, when SAI pit it was 5.6s.

When is the middle point that they lock in aero allowance for the second half of the season?
I'm worried about Ferrari overtaking Mercedes and Aston...

Good thing for Ferrari is they are 2nd force again, but will get ATR advantage due to being P4 in WCC on 30th of June. Should do them good for 24 car.
30th of June was the date :)
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

It's clear that Charles is not fully comfortable with this car and probably never will be.

Just hope the next year chassis will be better.

Still good improvement overall but RB is just in another league as expected. Remember thatl last year Ferrari was super quick.

Ferrari destroyed Sainz's race by benefiting the slower driver this weekend. Vasseur clearly has its own priorities.

I wonder if letting Sainz past in the early laps could have helped the double stack pitstop. In any case the both pitstops there were abysmal. But anyways positive result with the tire deg and seems Canada wasn’t a fluke at all. Fares good for Silverstone. I always have flashbacks there with 2015 or 16 double Ferrari tyre failure.

Xavi's clearly paid by Santander to mess with Leclerc and help Sainz.

Most of the pace difference in the first sitnt seemed to be coming in the S1

Doesn't S1 consist of only one braking zone, one traction zone and two straights? Is surprising

Second time this has happened. Sainz much faster than Leclerc behind but team does not let the faster car overtake. Like Aston Martin but Leclerc is not Vasseur's son so it's worse than them.

I understand it's hard for fans of Spanish drivers to accept that Sainz is neither a faster nor a better driver than Leclerc after the lucky 2021 season that Sainz had, but living in denial can lead to unnecessary frustration :) Also, and far more importantly, it leads to needlessly biased discussions on the Ferrari-team-fan thread :)

Sainz made amateurish errors in Australia and Monaco and was unnecessarily aggressive with track limits today. Those faults are his and his alone and cost him up to 30 points. Yet he's again lucky enough to still lead in WDC because of Xavi's incompetence as race engineer.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!
